Formerly SCC Cricket Academy

The Super Kings Partnership

On 1 July 2026, the SCC Cricket Academy became the SCC Super Kings Academy — the first Super Kings Academy centre in Southeast Asia. Here is the story of our new name, and what it means for your family.

The story

What happened

A 174-year-old club and a global academy network of 45+ centres joined forces — and our junior academy got a new name.

On 12 June 2026, the Singapore Cricket Club and the Super Kings Academy — the global cricket development arm of the Chennai Super Kings — announced their partnership at the SCC Clubhouse overlooking the Padang. The morning included the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the unveiling of the new SCC Super Kings Academy jersey and a ribbon-cutting at the SCC cricket nets.

From 1 July 2026, the SCC Cricket Academy officially became the SCC Super Kings Academy — the first Super Kings Academy centre in Southeast Asia. Same academy, same people, a bigger world behind it.

Our partner

Who the Super Kings Academy is

The Super Kings Academy is the Chennai Super Kings' global development arm — launched in 2022 and now coaching young cricketers across India, the USA, Australia and Canada.

45+centres across India, USA, Australia and Canada

4values under every session plan

The academy sits inside the wider Super Kings ecosystem — the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, the Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket in the USA, and the Joburg Super Kings in South Africa's SA20.

What travels from Chennai to every centre is not hype but a way of working. Four values sit under every session plan — discipline, resilience, selflessness and problem-solving — a curriculum built to shape the person, not just the player.

Discipline

Turn up, prepare properly, respect the game and the people in it.

Resilience

Learn to lose a moment without losing the session — and come back better.

Selflessness

The team's innings matters more than your average.

Problem-solving

Read the game, adapt the plan, make your own decisions on the field.

The practical bit

What changes for your child

Five real, on-the-ground differences you will notice from the new term.

Super Kings coaching methodology

Sessions align with the Super Kings Academy's development philosophy, and our coaches certify under Super Kings Academy standards alongside Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) frameworks.

The yellow SCC SKA kit

Players train and play in the new yellow SCC SKA kit, stocked from the Super Kings Academy, Chennai.

Structured readiness assessments

Standardised readiness tests across technical, physical and mental development — so progression between levels is measured, not guessed.

A dedicated girls' pathway

Girls' cricket becomes a first-class pillar of the academy, with its own pathway from junior sessions towards the SCC Women's Squad.

A global academy network

Your child trains inside a network of 45+ centres where coaching exchanges and inter-academy events happen across borders. When an opportunity is confirmed for our players, we will tell you directly.

We choose our words carefully here: joining a global network creates opportunities, never guarantees. We will not promise IPL access, player appearances or overseas trips — and we would encourage you to be wary of anyone who does.

The reassuring bit

What stays the same

A new name on the shirt does not change who is holding the coaching clipboard.

  • The same coaches. The coaching team your child knows carries straight on. Meet the coaches.
  • The same venues. Training continues at the Padang and SCC Dempsey, alongside our partner venues across Singapore.
  • The same SCC values and code of conduct. The standards of respect, humility and integrity that govern our sessions and match days are unchanged. See the Parent Hub.
  • The same contacts. WhatsApp +65 8134 8036 and Benno@SCCSuperKingsAcademy.sg both work exactly as before.
  • Your credits and vouchers. Existing session credits and academy vouchers will be honoured. We are confirming the exact redemption steps as our systems move across — WhatsApp us if you are unsure what you hold.

More than a badge

Why this partnership is real

Plenty of academies borrow a famous name. Here is why this one runs deeper.

Nets that host the world

This is a working cricket operation, not a licensing deal: the Super Kings Academy in Chennai hosts net sessions for touring international sides, including New Zealand, the West Indies and the Netherlands.

Heritage on our side

The Singapore Cricket Club was established in 1852, cricket has been played on the Padang since 1837, and the club hosted Singapore's first One Day International in 1996.

Opportunities, in their words

"We use the word opportunities rather than pathways."

— Sriram Krishnamurthy, Global Head Coach, Super Kings Academy

Our tagline, explained

Two Fields. One Soul.

One field is the Padang, in the heart of Singapore, where cricket has been played since 1837. The other is Chepauk, in Chennai, the home ground of the Chennai Super Kings.

Two grounds, thousands of kilometres apart, that mean the same thing to the people who love them: a place where the game is taken seriously and passed on with care. That is the spirit this academy is built on — and the standard every session at the SCC Super Kings Academy is coached to.
